Weekly storytime is often a young child's first introduction to the library. Memories of favorite stories read and told, puppets, and rhymes will remain with them forever.

Our goal is to introduce both parents and children to the best beginning literature and the traditional stories and songs of childhood.

What's your favorite? "The Wheels on the Bus?" "Eentsy-Weentsy Spider?" "Where is Thumbkin?" You will hear them all again at Storytime.

The Santa Clara City Library offers a traditional preschool storytime for ages 3-5 years, toddler storytime for 2-3 year olds, family storytimes for everyone, and, on occasion, lapsit programs for infants. On average, six programs are offered each week during most of the year.

Like all library programs, storytimes are free and open to all.

Librarians always read (and tell) stories with expression!
