For more than 70 hours each week, Y outh Services librarians assist children, teens, and adults to find the books and information they need, answering over 23,000 questions each year.

Questions range from "Where are the Thomas the Tank videos?" to "Can you suggest a classic novel for a 8 year old who loves Harry Potter?" to "Do you have a recipe to make flubber?" Librarians use both books and Internet resources to find the answers.

The library's youth materials collections contain over 97,000 items, including books, books on tape, videos, DVD's, computer CD-ROMs, and music compact discs. The most popular collections are the picture books for younger children, paperback fiction, and videos.

Extensive use of the non-fiction collection for school assignments necessitates the purchase of multiple copies of many titles.

Many teens study together at the library.
Children use the Internet for research as well as fun.
